Spain! Day 6: Valencia

We made it to Valencia by the afternoon and immediately went out exploring. Based on today, I have a feeling Valencia is going to be one of our favorites of the trip.  Here are a few pics from this afternoon:

We met a friend who took us out to try horchatas, a drink made from tiger nuts. It's served with a sugared pastry that you dunk before eating. I should have snapped a picture but I was hungry and thirsty! Horchateria de Santa Catalina has been around for over a century and this location was once visited by the Queen of Spain. The table she ate at is now on display in the entrance.

Today was the last Sunday of Easter week and it seemed like every plaza had something going on. Several had plays being performed about the lives of saints.

We took it easy this evening because tomorrow we have a bike ride along the coast to see a park and visit a small town known as *the* place for paella.
